My name is Susan Walker-Matthews, PhD owner of the independent practice, Medallion Psych. <\/span> <\/span>I have been licensed in WV since 1998, I maintain a Health Service Psychologist Credential, and I have a PsyPact Interstate Telehealth Compact license allowing me to provide telehealth services across the country to other PsyPact states. My<\/span> <\/span>goal is to help you fully understand your symptoms and their affect on <\/span>you so you can learn new skills to decrease distress, and to prevent recurrence in the future. I will schedule your first appointment quickly, prioritize your time, and work efficiently. You can expect to work hard, but you will have the support you need to help you reach your full potential.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My office is private, professional, and welcoming. I am discretely located with minimal signage, free off-street parking, and my main therapy room has a separate exit to reduce contact between clients in the waiting area. For highly recognizable clientele, I take measures to further ensure discretion based on your unique needs.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am currently accepting adults and older teens. I treat a variety of symptoms including: anxiety, panic, depression, self-injury, suicidal thoughts, medical illness, transgender issues and transitioning, difficulty with adjustment to life changes, and grief\/loss. If I cannot provide the services you need, I will help you find the best possible referral in your area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am excited to welcome Jess Luzier, PhD, ABPP, CEDS-C who will be providing additional services at Medallion Psych. Dr. Luzier is a board-certified Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychologist (American Board of Professional Psychology) and a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Consultant (International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals). Having graduated in 2010 with her doctorate degree, she has served West Virginia and surrounding areas ever since. She was named a Healthcare Hero for West Virginia in 2023.\u202fShe is a member of the National Register of Health Service Psychologists, licensed in West Virginia and a member of the PSYPACT interstate telehealth compact.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Luzier specializes in working with children and teens ages 11 through 19. She has advanced clinical skills for youth who are struggling with eating disorders or emotional dysregulation. Dr. Luzier uses research-supported psychotherapy techniques, including dialectical behavior therapy, family based therapy, and cognitive behavior therapy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Luzier will serve clients on Fridays beginning September 2026. Please call for an appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
